A man named Kenny Croyle recently performed a daring rescue of a baby deer that had gotten stranded in California’s Folsom Lake near Sacramento. Croyle was boating when passengers on another boat flagged him down to point out the distressed animal. They had already retrieved another fawn from the lake, and Croyle hopped in to snag this critter.
In a video of the rescue, Croyle said it “felt great” to rescue the baby deer although he did note the deer “scratched him a little.”
They took both the fawns to the shore and returned them to their mother. Here’s hoping they learned their lesson about going for a swim.
