Mom Worried About Her Son With Autism Traveling Alone Gets A Surprise When He Makes A ‘Plane Buddy’

Landon Bjornson is a 7-year-old boy who just took a very big trip, flying on his own from Las Vegas to Portland, Oregon.

It would be an epic journey for any kid Landon’s age traveling alone, but, according to KATU, Landon’s mother Alexa was particularly worried about how it would go because Landon has autism. So, to help things along, she gave Landon a note to give to his seat neighbor aboard the plane that explained his condition and included a 10 dollar bill for their patience.

As it turned out she had nothing to worry about because Landon and his seat mate Ben Pedraza quickly became travel buddies and fast friends.

According to CNN Pedraza said they had a blast and that at one point Landon even told him to “quit making dad jokes.”

They sent a picture of themselves goofing around aboard the flight to Landon’s mom and Pedraza told her he’d be donating her $10 to an autism charity.

In a note to Alexa Bjornson, Pedraza said “We had a good time and played a few rounds of rock-paper-scissors. He’s a great kid and you’re a lucky mom.”
