Area 51 memes recently lit up the internet as people made tongue-in-cheek vows to storm the famous—and famously secretive—government facility in Nevada to finally confirm long-held conspiracy theories about aliens.

Usually when companies and organizations try to capitalize on viral social media trend like this it’s cringeworthy at best, but when it’s a charity organization working for a good cause it’s an entirely different story.

OKC Animal Welfare, an animal shelter in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, decided to put a cute twist on the Area 51 meme, inviting people to “come storm our shelter” and dressing up their up-for-adoption pets in tinfoil hats.

They also added some galaxy-themed background visuals and alien stickers to make things a bit more intergalactic.

The pictures quickly went viral with over 11,000 shares on Facebook and other platforms.

People couldn’t get enough of the otherworldly pets and celebrated the animal shelter for its creativity in getting them adopted.

According to Fox News the shelter has confirmed that several of the pets featured in the photos have already been adopted.
