Want people to stop being dicks? Then sound off and sign Tank’s petition.
In case you hadn’t noticed, there are a lot of people walking around acting like dicks. They’re being dicks on social media, being dicks in emails, and even being dicks in real life. Frankly, it’s gotta stop. We’re all human beings and we all deserve to be treated with respect by our fellow man. Unfortunately, the only way to do that is for everyone—all of us—to stop being dicks to each other. (Yes, even you.) Tank Sinatra is here to help get that progress going, and kick the dicks to the curb.
Tank Sinatra has started a Change.org petition to get people to commit to stop being dicks.
“People just need to be nicer to each other man,” he wrote in the description. Because meaningful transformation takes time, he’s given all the dicks out there until Labor Day to get their act together. That’s almost a solid month for folks to practice not being dicks!
Tank Sinatra expanded on his efforts in a message to his followers:
“Have you had enough of seeing people be terrible to each other? Because I have. It seems like everywhere you turn these days, there’s another glaring example of the deteriorating fabric of society. People tend to stifle their good impulses and let their lower nature fly.
And before you blame your attitude on other people’s treatment of you, remember that the people inflicting pain need the most love. You may just change someone’s life by meeting an act of aggression with patience and understanding.
By no means do I believe this petition is going to be a panacea for the ills of society, however, my hope is that IF you sign this petition, you will take a beat the next time you act out. My hope is that you remember that you took a pledge to be a kinder, gentler person. That moment, that buffer, is the space in which you have to create the life you choose. Do you want to be a dick? Or not? Join me in not being a dick. You have until Labor Day.”
So far the petition has over 250 signatures, and people are sharing their reasons for signing:
