It’s always nice to see police officers going above and beyond in their jobs to help people. One Milwaukee police officer fulfilled his job duties and then some by making sue to protect the people in his community.
A Milwaukee police officer pulled over a mom driving with two of her kids. Instead of giving them a ticket, he bought them car seats.
On Oct. 12, Officer Kevin Zimmerman pulled over Lashae Jackson because her car’s registration was out of date. But, he also discovered that two of her daughters were not in car seats. The single mother of five explained that she couldn’t afford car seats at the time. Jackson told WTMJ, “With bills coming up and winter coming up, I have to get coats and boots and shoes for my kids. So it was hard for me.”
Zimmerman issued Jackson only a verbal warning and then headed to Walmart. He bought two car seats and then stopped by the police station to pick up some stickers and children’s books. Then, he went to Jackson’s house to install the seats himself.
Jackson posted about Jackson’s generous actions on Facebook. She wrote: “My girls couldn’t stop thanking him and it made them smile….shout out to Officer Zimmerman at District 5. We appreciate it a lot.”
