Generous Couple Covers Adoption Fees At Shelter So Forever Parents Can Walk Out With Free Pets

A generous couple recently paid for the adoption fees of most of the animals at the Pet Adoption and Welfare Services (PAWS) in Rutherford County, Tennessee—giving adoptable dogs and cats a head start on finding their forever homes.

According to shelter staff members Baileigh Back and Tiffany Weir, the couple came into the shelter wanting to help as many animals as possible. They explained they didn’t want an adoption fee to hold any animals back from getting adopted.

And then, to Back and Weir’s surprise, the couple said they wanted to cover the coast of all the adoptable animals. The staff members were so touched that they had to hold back tears.

The couple didn’t want any recognition for their charitable act, so PAWS thanked them anonymously on their Facebook page.

“A HUGE thank you to the wonderful couple who paid for 23 pets’ adoption fees. This has made many dreams come true for the shelter furries,” they wrote.

The dogs and cats whose adoption fees have been taken care of have a special note on their enclosure: “Someone has paid for my adoption so I get to go to a loving, fur-ever home!”

When you adopt an animal from PAWS, you will receive some food and an adoption packet. All adoptable animals have also been spayed or neutered and they are up to date on their vaccinations.

It looks like the generous couple’s actions are already helping get animals adopted—many of the pets whose adoption fees were covered have already been adopted!
