Sia Hopped Down From Her Chandelier To Buy Groceries For Lucky Walmart Customers On Thanksgiving

Famously private and quirky pop star Sia—she usually hides her face behind wigs—brightened a lot of folks’ Thanksgivings by going to a Palm Springs Walmart, telling people her name was “Cici,” and buying them groceries.

“So @Sia paid for my groceries today thank you so much!! The heart and beautiful soul you have for paying for everyone!! I’m sorry for telling everyone once I realized who you were!! But this kindness must be acknowledged!!”

Sia, without her trademark blunt cut wig and wearing decidedly un-avant-garde clothing, showed up at the Walmart on Wednesday. She didn’t tell anyone who she was — she just hung out by the registers and paid for food. According to Palm Springs’ KESQ, Sia would finish paying for one person’s groceries and then ask, “Who’s next?”

According to the Twitter user, “Cici” explained her generosity by telling Walmart customers she had won the lottery, but a fan recognized her and posted a video to Twitter. She was also allegedly spotted paying for people’s clothes at a neighboring TJ Maxx.

Sia, whose full name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, has been nominated for nine Grammy awards and is known for her activism involving work aiming to end large-scale pet breeding and to encourage pet neutering. She also contributed a song called “The Greatest” as a tribute to those killed in the Pulse Orlando shooting.

Now, she can add Thanksgiving Fairy to her list of good deeds.
