Kathleen Saville and Olive Woodward of Mansfield, England, have been friends for over 80 years, ever since they met at age 11 way back in 1941.
Now both 89, the lifelong friends have no intention of breaking their impressive friendship streak and have moved into the same assisted living facility in order to remain near to each other.
The two are so close that staff at the facility have nicknamed them the “dynamic duo.”
According to BBC News the pair have been inseparable since their childhood friendship was forged, never living more than 10 minutes apart, and Mrs. Saville expects their friendship to continue forever, saying:
“If Olive goes first she’ll come back to fetch me. We’re going to be friends in heaven.”
That will hopefully be a long way off as, from what she told the BBC, Ms. Saville is still as fiery as anyone, saying she “can still pull the boys” and that she’s “fighting for every minute.”
For her part, Ms. Woodward says that she was unhappy being apart from her friend for several weeks before Saville moved into the same facility and that seeing her oldest and dearest friend always puts a smile on her face.
