Delivery folks are truly the unsung heroes of our time. And especially during the holiday season, when we’re all scrambling to get our gift lists organized and our orders out in time, they need some extra gratitude. That’s exactly what Kathy Ouma of Middletown, Delaware does every year when she leaves goodies such as snacks, water, and soda on the porch for delivery people to find and take on their busy days.
“UPS, USPS, AMAZON, FEDEX — Please take some goodies to enjoy on your route. Thank you for making holiday shopping easy,” reads the note accompanying the care basket.
Now, the exuberant reaction of one of the delivery people upon finding the basket of treats has gone viral, reminding people to treat the folks who bring stuff to their door generously.
“THIS! Made my day! I leave goodies out every year. Middletown, Delaware,” wrote Ouma. “The driver is Karim Earl Reed III — You are bringing millions of people joy!”
In the video, which was captured by Ouma’s Ring security device, the Amazon driver approaches the snacks with gleeful surprise, helps himself to some, and does a happy dance on the way back to his truck.
The post has over 271k shares on Facebook, with social media users mentioning that they will also start the practice of leaving snacks out for their delivery personnel.
Well, most of them.
