First, there was the Polar Express. Now, there’s the “Grandfather Express.” For Christmas, an Oregon man surprised his grandkids with their own personal school bus—and his plans to drive them to school every day.
Doug Hayes has ten grandchildren. And because they go to a relatively small Christian school in Gladstone, Oregon that doesn’t offer busing, Hayes wanted to give them the school bus experience and help them make lasting, happy memories.
“We’re so excited about it,” Hayes said.
Hayes plans on using the “Grandfather Express” to bring his grandchildren to school every day.
His grandkids were totally floored by the gift.
“I was really stunned. I never expected him to buy a bus,” Hayes’ grandson Christian told WZDX. “I think my friends are all gonna be stunned.”
