Service workers have difficult jobs—and it can be hard to keep up morale when dealing with all sorts of customers (some undeniably cranky) and performing myriad duties that can be unpleasant. That’s why a video of a 20-year-old North Carolina Chick-Fil-A employee has gone viral—his consistently joyful attitude towards his customers was simply too special to ignore.
Jeremiah Murrill has been working at Chick-Fil-A (which in the past has been the subject of controversy regarding its stance on LGBTQ rights) in Wilmington, North Carolina for a few years and has made a huge impact on the community. Murrill takes customer drive-thru orders outside of the restaurant and is always friendly and positive, even taking the effort to remember repeat customers’ names. His goal? To brighten everyone’s day.
One customer wanted to make sure Murrill received recognition for his outstanding service. She filmed him while he took her order and then uploaded the video to Facebook.

“He deserves to go viral….Every time I see him, he’s always so upbeat & friendly!!!!!! I’m glad somebody captured this on camera because this is his everyday customer service!!!!!” wrote one social media user.
“My favorite guy! Literally the most positive person, rain or shine,” wrote another. “I’m so happy that he is getting the recognition he deserves and has earned simply for being an upbeat and genuine human being. You’re a rare find, friend.”
“He is absolutely the best. greatest attitude. Wish I had his energy and enthusiasm everyday. He should be recognized,” wrote another social media user.
Honestly, we all wish we had that kind of energy and enthusiasm. What’s his secret?
WWAY reporters asked Murrill how he manages to be so upbeat and kind to his customers.
“Your actions, your behavior, or the way you interact with people matters, and it transforms a day.” he said.
“Seeing these lives transform just by talking with them and taking their orders and being kind and nice—it’s awesome.”
Keep up the good work, Jeremiah!
