I never believed in sitting on the couch and complaining about how bad things are, I always believed we should all do our part to make things better. This is a simple way to protect our real action heroes on the frontlines in our hospitals, and I’m proud to be part of it. I donated 1 million dollars, and I hope that all of you who can will step up to support these heroes. Go to the link in my bio to help out.
The movie legend and former California governor hopes that those who can help will step up to offer their support. He says of the initiative, “Our doctors, nurses and hospital staff are the real action heroes of this crisis. I just play one in the movies.”
“We have an opportunity and a responsibility to provide them with personal protective equipment right now to keep them safe as they fight this virus, so when I heard about Flexport.org’s plan, this was a no-brainer to me.”
Flexport.org is an international aid group behind the Frontline Responders Fund. Funds that go to Flexport are distributed to companies involved in the manufacture and delivery of these life-saving supplies. Last week, the Bay Area-based logistics firm facilitated the procurement and delivery of 60,000 surgical masks, 34,000 gloves, 2,000 surgical gowns and 50 thermometers to San Francisco’s Department of Public Health, TechCrunch reported.
In a video he posted to Facebook, Schwarzenegger checked in on almost 50,000 masks delivered to an LA hospital as a result of the initiative:
Arnold Schwarzenegger just donated $1,000,000 in masks and protective gear to hospital workers.
