“This Woman Should Be Paid A Million Dollars A Year”—People Are Celebrating Virtual Teachers With Viral TikToks

If you know a teacher right now, you know they deserve a (virtual) hug. Teaching is always a challenge, but with COVID-19 disrupting normal school routines and forcing teachers to come up with all sorts of innovations for their classroom, teachers need more love than ever.

A TikTok of a teacher explaining how to do math AND correctly use your microphone on Zoom has gone viral on Twitter, with thousands of people praising her unreal patience.

“This woman should literally be paid one million dollars a year,” says the caption on Twitter.

In the video, the teacher is working on some math lessons with young children and is visually showing them how to add. But when it comes time to participate, one student who has the answer is unable to get his microphone to work. We’ve all been there by now, right?

But this teacher is immediately on it, holding up a little picture taped to a popsicle-stick to help him understand what he needs to do to turn on the microphone and answer the question.

This video inspired many other examples of TikToks showing teachers going above and beyond with unearthly kindness, calm, and enthusiasm.

“You guys were just too excited to show me you’re technology experts,” this teacher says in his TikTok.

So what are you waiting for? Send some love to a teacher ASAP!
