Woman Whose Job Interview Happy Dance Went Viral Reveals Why She Was So Happy

A video of a woman leaving a restaurant after getting hired went viral because as she left, she did a happy dance as she made her way out. Now, after an exclusive interview with a local television news station, we know the reason why she was so excited about her new job.

Dakara Spence posted the original video of the woman with the caption, “So I just hired this young girl, and this was her response.” The video currently has over 1.3 million views on Spence’s Instagram.

Atlanta’s CBS 46 revealed that for the last two years, the young woman who had just been hired, Kayallah Jones, had been homeless. Also, because of the ongoing pandemic, she had an even tougher time finding a stable job. But after Spence hired her at The Spot Bar and Grill in Decatur, Georgia, it meant less hardship for her.

Spence spoke to CBS 46 and said, “She had a great energy. I felt it as soon as she walked in; she seemed really positive.” After their interview, she decided to hire Jones and called to her to let her know that she got the job.

“I called her phone, and I said I’m going to hire you, and I seen your happy dance so you can continue dancing,” she told the local news station, “She was just screaming through the phone, and it was just a beautiful moment for me.”

The station, then spoke to Jones about how much getting this job meant to her, “Ms. Dakara didn’t know, but I was going through so much and at that point when she gave me this chance and this opportunity. I was elated, excited and so overwhelmed to the point where no one understood how happy and accomplished I felt at that moment,” she said.
