Caden Cotnoir, 13, was scrolling on TikTok, watching a livestream of Trent Jarrett, 12, riding his quad bike, when something appeared to go wrong.
“All of a sudden his phone goes kind of blank, you can see a little bit of light and you can just hear him yelling for help.”Caden Cotnoir
The trouble is that Cotnoir lives in New Hampshire, located 800 miles away from Jarrett in West Virginia. According to The Independent, Jarrett was trapped underneath the vehicle for twenty minutes and could ‘hardly breathe.”
Luckily, Cotnoir could hear Jarrett shouting what he assumed to be a phone number.
He wrote down the number and called it, with Jarrett’s grandparents answering the phone.
Jarrett later shared that his grandparents’ phone number was the only one he could remember. After being notified, the 12-year-old’s parents rushed out of their home to find their son. They quickly found him pinned underneath the quad bike, with Jarrett only suffering from minor cuts and bruises.
Following the accident, the boys met via Zoom, allowing Jarrett the chance to thank Cotnoir for saving his life.
The boys followed each other on TikTok because of their shared interests in hunting and fishing, and now the incident has strengthened their friendship, and the pair hopes to meet in person one day.
“If something happens, I’m always there in his thing so if something ever goes wrong I’ll most likely be there, like to help and stuff, hopefully, we’ll get to meet someday.”Caden Cotnoir
