A good samaritan is being praised for their quick action after witnessing a car crash on route 90 in Ocean City, Maryland. The impact sent the baby flying into the Assawoman Bay, and the bystander immediately jumped over the rail to save the child.
One vehicle was overturned, hanging halfway over the guardrail and multiple people had been injured in what officers are calling a “mass casualty incident.”
The Ocean City Fire Department said that the infant was thrown from the vehicle that was hanging over the guardrail, falling into the bay below. After being rescued by the alert bystander, the baby was rushed to John Hopkins Children’s Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Seven others were injured and were taken to area hospitals. Officials are still investigating the cause of the Sunday afternoon crash.
